TripEvenly helps groups keep track of shared trip expenses. This page explains what we store, why, and who else is involved.
What we store
- Space owners: your name, email address and a hashed password (we never store the password itself).
- Space content: the names people use in a space, trips, expenses, settlements, receipt images, photos you attach, and the history of changes.
- Invites: the email addresses you send invites to.
- Payments: a record of credit added and scans used. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Security logs: IP addresses and request details, kept briefly to prevent abuse (for example, limiting password guesses).
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in and remember which spaces you’ve opened on that device. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser may also store small preferences, such as the last space you opened.
Who else processes data
- Anthropic reads a receipt image when you choose to scan it. Receipts are not sent anywhere unless you scan them.
- Stripe processes payments when you add funds.
- Our email provider delivers sign-in, password reset and invite emails.
- Frankfurter supplies exchange rates. Only currencies and dates are sent, never personal data.
We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who can see a space
Anyone with a space’s link and password, or an invite link, can see and edit everything in that space. Choose a password you’re comfortable sharing with your group, and change it if someone should no longer have access.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep space content until it’s deleted. To delete your account or a space you own, reply to any email from TripEvenly and we’ll remove it.
